Internship Ministry

Saint John Lutheran Church

ministry

Saint John served as an Internship site for students who attended Wartburg Theological Seminary of Dubuque, Iowa from1993 until 2010. We participated in the intership ministry as our response to the mission of preparing pastors to serve within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

Prior to becoming an official internship site in 1993, this congregation had a history of having seminary students come to Bellevue and assist the pastor in carrying out the pastoral ministry. Several of these seminarians have moved from serving the Church as faithful pastors to becoming President of Wartburg College and another a Bishop in the ELCA. Saint John hopes to partner with Wartburg Theological Seminary in the future.
